Wolfe has joined its headquarters staff as the Director of the HIV/AIDS Twinning Center, a unique volunteer-driven technical assistance program that supports the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and other US Government efforts to develop sustainable health system capacity in low-resource settings around the globe.

Twinning Center Partners in Tanzania Introduce Recovery Oriented System of Care in Dar es Salaam
PEPFAR-supported Substance Abuse and HIV Prevention Partnership Conducts Sensitization Workshop for Addicts, Families in Kinondoni District
WASHINGTON, DC, and DAR es SALAAM, TANZANIA, August 17, 2010 - The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) and its partners from the Tanzania Drug Control Commission (DCC), Ministry of Health and Social Development Department of Substance Abuse Prevention and Rehabilitation (DSAPR) in Zanzibar, and the Great Lakes Addiction Technologies Transfer Center (GLATTC) concluded today a two-day sensitization workshop designed to introduce the recovery oriented system of care (ROSC) to some 50 drug addicts and their families in the Kinondoni District of Dar es Salaam.

The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) is pleased to issue a request for proposals in support of establishing a new volunteer-based partnership between Walter Sisulu University Faculty of Health Sciences in South Africa's Eastern Cape Province and an academic institution with significant expertise in supporting medical training for physician assistants (clinical associates), as well as institutional and administrative capacity strengthening within the context of HIV/AIDS.

Throughout Africa and many other developing regions of the world, inefficient, poorly equipped or maintained, and inadequately staffed medical laboratories represent a major barrier to the
provision of high quality healthcare services. The World Health Organization's Regional Office for Africa (WHO/AFRO) reports that most laboratories on that continent lack the institutional, material, and human resource capacity required to achieve WHO accreditation and operate as an effective component of healthcare systems in these nations.

Really very sad and very much disappointing news...a great loss for the world opened the mind and , heart, ears, eyes towards halting and preventing HIV & AIDS, particularly for uniquely affected and afflicted sub-Saharan countries and its real collaborators...

WASHINGTON, DC, and PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, September 17, 2009 - The American International Health Alliance (AIHA) is deeply saddened to announce the loss of one of our partners, award-winning Zambian recording artist Lily Tembo, known to her fans as "Lily T." Tembo, 27, died on the evening of September 14 near her home in Lusaka as a result of severe gastritis and anemia. Her funeral was held today in Zambia.

Washington, DC, July 9, 2009 - HIV/AIDS Twinning Center partners at the Universidade Católica de Moçambique (UCM) and the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania celebrated the opening of a new HIV/AIDS clinic and training center. St. Luke's Health Center officially opened its doors at UCM's Beira campus on June 17, greatly expanding accessibility to high quality primary care and HIV/AIDS services to people in Mozambique's Sofala Province.
