An open letter to Ms. Terry Ford, Director, Global Advocacy, AIDS Healthcare Foundation
Respected Madam,
With due respect and gratitude to you and to AHF as a 2nd line ART Client from India, I would like to request you to stop Dr. Mahesh Ganesan to juggle with the lives, dignity and trust on AHF.
As a matter of fact after inauguration of Grievance Redressal Cell For PLWH (GRCP) people were very hopeful about AHF India Care's challenging attitude in comparison to other existing legal support NGOs and started approaching with different grievances, but nobody is satisfy still today.
I myself motivated PLWH from different States of India like West Bengal, Maharastra and registered few cases but all are unaddressed still today or never replied to the clients.
The most pathetic recent occurrence about one 2nd line client of AHF India Cares from Manipur, who was harassed by different hospitals for her surgery and ultimately got verbal assurance from GRCP after registering in written for the support to get her critical operation done from AIIMS which costs about one lakh rupees, although our Government Declaration is there to get this free of cost for PLWH in any Government hospitals.
Ultimately, she got then date for admission on 20th July'08 and got the relevant tests done, which required before admission with very hardly arranged money and also got her cast and no income certificate to get admission and to get her operation free of cost as per direction from GRCP.
But, still today she is waiting for GRCP's support to get her operation done fre of cost, definitely by getting another date for admission and may be with repeated tests required before admission, in a very helpless manner with her ongoing decreasing health condition.
So, try to understand the ultimate outcome of GRCP.
Again the same thing about Coalition for AIDS Treatment Access(CATA), there is no followup meeting of the partners, even after Prime Minister's Meet.
AHF India Cares least bother to inform all CATA partners or to be in touch after using their logos and signatures to be in News Paper.
I would like to request you to intervention in this regard immediately to stop Dr. Mahesh Ganesan's tokenistic approach by the name of well being of PLWH.
I know for this open letter AHF India Cares may withdraw my 2nd line ART support, but I am ready to sacrifice own life to stop such inhuman activity by anybody by the name of well being of PLWH, rather vested carrieristic approach!
